7 Magnetic Marketing Secrets To Wealth in 2010 – Secret #2

Yesterday we talked about Secret #1, the definition of successful marketing: THE RIGHT MESSAGE, TO THE RIGHT MARKET, AT THE RIGHT TIME.

**********************************************************
SECRET #2 IS: “CHERRY PICKING” AND THE THREE TYPES OF LEADS.
**********************************************************

Every time you run a marketing campaign, the leads you get can be divided into three categories:

  • Leads that are ready NOW (Hot)
  • Leads that aren’t ready now but will be ready soon (Warm–these leads are critical to your success)
  • Leads that may never be ready (Cold or Bad Leads)

The problem is, when you first receive them, you don’t know which is which!!!

So, you or your staff call every lead once or twice and then you spend the time with the leads that look like they’re going to close. Every smart sales person that works on
commissions does this–they go for the low hanging fruit!

That’s right. They basically cherry pick! Cherry picking is the natural result here because:

  • Reps are paid high commissions for a sale
  • You can’t tell the difference between warm leads and bad leads until you reach them
  • If you DO reach the lead and the timing isn’t right, you don’t have the time or patience to constantly follow up.

There’s nothing wrong with spending your time with hot leads. The problem of cherry picking comes when you neglect all those warm leads!

Instead of doing the tedious follow-up grunt work, reps usually wait for a new batch of leads to come in. In the meantime, the warm leads from the last batch get cold and you forget about them. Simply put, they slip through the cracks.

You know you need a system to follow up with these leads. You need something or someone to do your follow-up like clockwork, whether you’re on the phone, in a meeting or on the golf course.

Over the years, you’ve probably tried a number of different schemes to follow up or “re-market” to your leads. And if you’re “successful,” chances are you’re finding an occasional needle in the haystack. But… YOU CAN DO SO MUCH BETTER!

Your follow up doesn’t have to be hit and miss. There’s a new way to manage this whole process for you. And you can be sure that it will help you get more out of your leads than you’re getting right now. Wouldn’t it be nice to get a couple more closed deals (or more!) from your leads each month?

Find out how to do just that. Download Free eBook: 9 Proven Techniques to Double Sales and I’ll tell you how you can get more out of your prospects & leads.

The year 2009 is just about over as 2010 is on the horizon. But before we go leaping into the new year, we must first assess our failures and achievements for the current year.

Where you able to meet all your goals this year?

Did you quit smoking like you told yourself on day one of 2009?
Did you get down to the dress or pants size you planned by the end of the year?
Were you able to get rid of the debt that has plagued you over the years?

If you were able to achieve your goals — CONGRATULATIONS ~ WELL DONE!!

However, if you were not able to obtain your goals, do not be discouraged. As long as you gave it your best shot you have no reason to hang your head low. You tried. And that’s all that really matters.

I faced some very tough challenges in 2009. I retired from the military, went full-time in network marketing, and eventually found myself in severe debt. Considering all that had happened, I could of very easily given up on myself and called it quits. Instead, I was able to endure through faith and determination.

Oh, I have to also admit that my faith allowed me to receive great blessings. The kind of things that happened to me were nothing short of miracles. People started to appear in my life like angels from heaven. I don’t know where they came from, but I began to listen and follow them as they took me under their wings and taught me the skills I needed to know to finally succeed. I learned more from them in a few short months than I had learned the eleven previous years in the Internet marketing industry.

My mentors and coaches taught me that education was the most important factor in determining success or failure. Therefore, I worked really hard at educating myself in the many areas of Internet marketing. And by knowing just a little bit more than the next person, I was able brand myself as a professional in this industry. By no means am I a total expert. That sort of skill takes time. However, I know that today I learned a little bit more than I knew yesterday. And tomorrow I will learn a little bit more than I knew today. So, as long as there is a tomorrow, there is knowledge to be gained and better days ahead.

Enough about me…
It was not my plan to tell my story in this particular post. I started writing with goal setting being my topic; however, my heart sort of drifted in that direction. I guess because I know that I am not the only one to have been troubled this year. Maybe you experienced some of the same hardships this year. Perhaps you are still dealing with these hardships. If so, I will tell you that it is only temporary.

The Year 2010 just might be your year to shine. As long as you are persistent and grounded in faith, you will be able to reach your goals. Also, don’t forget to add knowledge and align yourself with people who can/will help you succeed. That in itself will make all the difference in the world.

If you go to work on your goals, your goals will go to work on you. If you go to work on your plan, your plan will go to work on you. Whatever good things we build end up building us. Jim Rohn

I want to thank you for sharing with me this year. It’s been quite the journey. I look forward to working with you next year and to grow and learn from each other. May you have a Prosperous New Year!

Take Care & God Bless,

In conjunction with our last tip on creating an affiliate program, this post will address the three main aspects of creating a successful affiliate program.

Who should my affiliates be?
When selecting people to partner with you, consider their value. Find someone whose influence is going to drive sales. Seek out the gurus and experts in your industry and see if they’d be willing to partner with you. Look for individuals with a market that is either larger, or hits another set of prospects than yours does. Finally, choose affiliates that are excited about, and preferably use, your products and service.

How should my affiliates be paid?
Always pay your affiliates on a commission basis. Like most salesman, if they do nothing… they receive nothing. The harder they work, the more they earn. However, the value of each of your affiliates is going to vary. Consider paying commissions based on a tiered payment structure.

How do I motivate affiliates to act?
Even the best partners need motivation to work with you. Here’s the key: make it EASY and LUCRATIVE for them. They’re busy. You’ve got to do as much of the work for them as you can. And, you need to be generous. Remember, it’s their influence and list you want, not their work. Make it easy and lucrative for them and your success will soar.

Creating and managing multi-tiered affiliate structures should not be difficult. Find an affiliate management software program that does this for you. Then, sit back and see what your affiliates can do!

Life is full of challenges, and ultimately those challenges leads us to a place where we have to make a tough decision. Do we keep going? (or) Do we throw in the towel? I can tell you that the easy choice is the later.
Three Feet from Gold AudioMost people that fail in network marketing fail because they quit. They quit three feet short of the mark. A lot of it really has to do with mindset. If you are not in the right mindset, you see these challenges as being overwhelming or as I would like to use as an analogy.. you feel like you are three feet from the edge.

In order not to fail, you decide to simply give up. But you know, maybe you are not three feet from the edge. Perhaps you are really three short steps from finding true success.

Think and Grow Rich AudioNothing in life is easy. This is especially true in network marketing. Personally, I think this industry is rather simple. You just have to go about it the right way. Your focus in this industry is not on selling. Your focus should be on building relationships, and giving people what they want. You go about in this manner and you will start to see tremendous results in your business.

You also have to be willing to take risks. You can’t give up on what you started simply because you hit a few roadblocks. We all have been there. I have been there, the best of the best have been there. You may currently be there right now. You just need to believe in yourself and know you will soon be where you want to be.

As a Man Thinketh AudioIn the book, As A Man Thinketh, I learned a great lesson that really helped me in my business: You are what you think. I invite you to employ this same mindset in your everyday life. If you think you can’t succeed then quite frankly, you will absolutely do just that — Not Succeed! However, if you make it a habit to master your thoughts and truly believe in your abilities, you will find success. Look at the top leaders in our industry today. They came from some of the same conditions you may presently be experiencing, but they never quit. They found a way to overcome their obstacles.

Some examples…

Dani Johnson – homeless at 21 to millionaire at 23.
Tony Robbins – turned $10 into millions by age of 24
Mike Dillard – waiting tables to millionaire at 29
Matt Morris – homeless at 21 to millionaire at 29

I could name hundreds of people who have been right where you are today. This is not a rare occurrence in our day and time. You are not the first person to have ever struggled, and you surely will not be the last. Fortunate for you, you are in the right business to find success. So, don’t you give up just yet. You are not at the edge, you are at the beginning! You are about to make your mark on humanity. YOU ARE THREE FEET FROM GOLD!
