7 Magnetic Marketing Secrets To Wealth in 2010 – Secret #4

Yesterday, we covered Secret #3: TIMING IS EVERYTHING!

*********************************************************
SECRET #4 IS: TRANSFORM YOUR SALES WORK FROM OUTBOUND “HUNTING” TO INBOUND “HARVESTING”
*********************************************************

This secret is critical to your success because it puts you in a position to land customers quickly. It shortens the sales cycle, increases your capacity to handle more deals/sales and improves your closing ratio because you spend more time talking to highly qualified prospects.

Would you like to come into the office and pluck ripe fruit off the tree… or…would you rather spend your time hitting the phones hard, chasing leads and talking to lukewarm prospects? The answer is pretty obvious.

When you’re in “hunting” mode, you’re dialing for dollars; you feel resistance at every turn; rejection is common; you get “shopped” against competitors; and you waste tons of time working with leads who simply aren’t ready.

On the other hand, when you’re in harvesting mode, you’re working smart and scooping up sales left and right. You can spend your time at closings, on the phone with hot leads or out on the golf course because you know your prospects will call YOU when they’re ready to move forward.

So, how can you actually make the shift from hunting mode to harvesting mode?

In most companies, the marketing department’s job is to get the leads and the sales department’s job is to call on the leads and close the sale. But in between “getting the lead” and “closing the sale” there’s a huge gap. If you close the gap, you’ll make the shift from hunting mode to harvesting mode…and your profits will skyrocket.

But to make the shift, you need to recognize that: someone (either Marketing or Sales) has to be in charge of “warming the leads” that aren’t hot right now but will be hot down the road.

So, now you understand the task at hand, let me give you five tips on how you can make the shift:

  • Send reluctant prospects relevant, valuable information on a scheduled, recurring basis.
  • Communicate to prospects efficiently, aside from the normal, time-consuming, one-on-one methods.
  • Log all communications between your office and the prospect in an organized fashion.
  • Arm yourself and your sales reps with an arsenal of specific information that can be sent to prospects upon request.
  • Track the progress of each lead through the sales pipeline, so you always know where every lead stands.

When you make this shift, you’ll be absolutely AMAZED at the results. You’ll enjoy your work more, you won’t dread pounding the phones, and you’ll have more freedom… all because your prospects will call YOU when they’re ready. The bottom line is that you’ll close more deals, make more money, and do it all in less time… and ditch the grunt work.

AND…it can all be done through an automated system. Sound good? Download Free eBook: 9 Proven Techniques to Double Sales and I’ll tell you how you can put a system in place that will convert you from a hunter to a harvester.

Top 30, No 31 Ways to Earn with Special Reports

Filed Under (General Marketing) by bcanada on 31-12-2009

(This post is being republished because the previous post URL did not register with some of my plugins and social bookmarking sites. Because it did register with a few of the sites, I did not want to break those links by deleting the original post.)

Top 30…No 31 Ways to Earn with Special Reports

Internet marketers love special reports. They’re quick to make and easy to sell, which means you can make money from them – fast. Plus, there’s more than one way to earn with special reports. In fact, I came up with a list of 30 ways!

But first, if you think you can’t possibly make your very own special reports, check out the Special Report Club – and use the code “save10” to get $10 off your first month.

So here it is, my super list of Top 30 Ways to Earn with Special Reports:

1. Sell it – and keep all of the profits. The most obvious way of making money with special reports is to sell them.

2. Sell it through affiliates – and keep some of the profits. This is the similar #1, but your affiliates lead buyers to your sales page and pocket a commission from the sale.

3. Sell it through affiliates – and give them all of the profits. How does this make you money? Well, you build a list of buyers plus you can earn money on the back-end, either by promoting other products in the report itself, or as part of the sales process, or both.

4. Give it away – and build your list. Use the special report as an incentive for people to join your list.

5. Give it away – and make affiliate sales. Embed affiliate links in the report, and you can earn commissions by giving it away. Just add a “Resources” page or sprinkle affiliate links where appropriate.

6. Break it up into blog posts. A blog needs regular content. Write blog posts easily from a special report.

7. Give it away as a bonus to a paid product. Increase the perceived value of a paid product by including a special report – or several – as a bonus.

8. Combine them into an E-book to sell. Turn each special report into a chapter, add an introduction, conclusion, new title and cover, and you’ve got a brand new E-book to sell.

9. Combine related special reports into an E-book, to give away. Same idea as #8, but you give it away for list building and/or affiliate sales.

10. Combine related special reports into a physical book, to sell. Turn the E-book from #8 into a book that buyers can publish-on-demand, such as on Lulu.com.

11. Use it as a basis for an article. Get the most actionable points from the special report, turn them into an article, and submit it to Ezine Articles or another online article directory.

12. Create an audio version to give away, or sell. Some people prefer audio products they can listen to while they’re on the go or doing other things. Give in to their demand by converting the special report into an audio report.

13. Use a special report as the basis for tutorial videos – to give away or sell. Videos are hot nowadays, so turn a special report into video format for increased value.

14. Combine the audio and video versions into CDs and/or DVDs – and sell physical products. Physical products don’t cost a lot to produce, but have higher perceived value than digital products.

15. Use the special report as the basis for a series of marketing videos to build your list and/or drive traffic to your site. Get 3-5 top tips from the special report and turn them into a video you post on YouTube and other video sharing sites, for instant traffic for your blog or site.

16. Use it as the basis for videos to promote affiliate products. Similar to #15, but use the videos to drive traffic to products you’re affiliated with, using your affiliate links.

17. Make it a prize on your Twitter giveaway. Want to get more Twitter followers? Offer a special report to all your new followers.

18. Give it away in exchange for answering an online survey to do market research. Set up an online survey and give respondents a free special report for their time.

19. Make it a surprise bonus for your customers or subscribers. Delight your existing customers with a free special report they didn’t expect to get and make them loyal to you, for life.

20. Create a teleseminar out of the special report. Create a list of frequently-asked questions the special report addresses, and set up a teleseminar.

21. Make it a monthly resource in a paid membership program. Add useful special reports in the members’ resource area, or make it the featured content of the month.

22. Break it up into an E-course, to sell or give away. Chop up a special report to create an E-mail course or pre-recorded audio course.

23. Use the special report to create free Web 2.0 sites, such as Squidoo and Hub Pages. Create content for Squidoo lenses, Hub Pages and other Web 2.0 sites that promote your products and/or services, or affiliate products.

24. Break it up into autoresponder messages for your subscribers. Use the special report to give your subscribers useful information regularly.

25. Rewrite it to cater to a different or more specific niche. With a few tweaks, you can make a special report appeal to a completely different niche or market. For example, turn a general business report into one just for work-at-home Moms.

26. Use the content to create a mini-site for affiliate marketing. Set up a mini-site (5 pages or less) to promote an affiliate product. Get content from a special report.

27. Create a podcast. Use a special report as the basis for a podcast, which can be in audio or video format.

28. Use it as an upsell or downsell to another paid product. Offer a special report to buyers of a related product.

29. Turn it into a brandable report for your affiliates to use to promote your product or service. Let affiliates give away a special report to draw leads to your site or list.

30. Cull out the most actionable tips from the special report and turn each one into a Twitter Tweet. Shazam, you’re an instant expert.

Surprise! I actually came up with 31 ways. Here’s the bonus:

31. Turn special reports into hand-outs, checklists or even main resource materials for a coaching program.
Ready to make money with special reports? You can jump-start the process with a special report, sales page, e-cover and more done for you month after month. Find out how at
the Special Report Club. And don’t forget to use the discount code “save10” (without the quotation marks) to get $10 off your first month with Special Report Club.

MLM Vs MLAM. Do You Know The Difference?

Filed Under (MLM Business Reviews) by bcanada on 06-10-2009

One of the things I am very proud of is I try to keep all my readers, customers, and business partners away from MLM. A blogger has no business being in MLM. Why? I’ll explain.

MLM correctly stands for Multi Level marketing. What this means is someone created a product or service and convinced other people to sell it. To get these people to sell the product the creator says I will pay you 50% of the sales every time you sell my product. If you can get other people to sell my product I will give you 25% of the sales they make. If they get other people to sell my product, I will give you 10% of those sales, and if those people get others to sell, I will give you 5% of those sales.

Now anyone with half a brain realizes the money is not in selling the product but in getting others to sell the product. If the product is worth $10 that means a person makes $5.00 for every sale they make. However if they can get 5 other people to sell the product for them, they make $2.50 off each person who makes a sale. The idea is the more people selling for you the more money you make.

There are a lot of problems with this type of marketing. Ultimately only the guys on the very top of the chain make any money. Why? Because statistically products sold in this manner, are not wanted! They are hard to sell. That’s why the MLM was introduced.

It means if I sign up under a friend of mine, and then I get 10 more people to sign up, but along the way I realize I can’t make any money in this, I drop out. This is EXACTLY what the people on top of the chain want to happen. That means I make NO money off the people I recruited in and the profits and earnings skip me, putting more money in the high up pockets!

Are you confused? If so don’t worry, thats exactly what people involved in MLM want you to be!

Okay that explains why I think MLM is really just a scam but doesn’t tell exactly why a blogger more then anyone should avoid MLM. You see a multi level marketer has two jobs. His jobs is first to recruit people into the MLM business. To do this the marketer spends every waking moment socializing with people who may seem interested in the business. The second thing he must do is teach all the people he recruits about the newest and best ways to market both themselves and the product in question.

Why would this be bad for a blogger to do? Because they are losing money by doing it! If you start a blog with the sole intent of teaching people about your MLM then what about all the people not interested? They are just lost sales – people who will never spend money at your site. This is a HUGE loss! Also if you are spending all your time recruiting and training, how much time do you really have left to blog?

A blogger does have an alternative though. The alternative to MLM is called MLAM. MLAM is rarely talked about and its sad really because the most successful MLM’s of all time have actually been MLAM. What is MLAM? It stands for Multi Level Affiliate marketing.

When I think of MLAM two companies pop into my mind. The first is Avon and the second is Tupperware! What makes these companies different from MLM? Well I will explain. MLAM means you are not only a multi level marketing but also an affiliate of the company. This is another way of saying a glorified sales person who works on commission.

MLAM companies provide you with a complete product lineup for you to sell. You are given enough different products to run your own store. This is where the idea of avon and tupperware parties came from. Women could sell these items and make a fortune off commission based sales. At the end of any given month, they would get paid based upon how many sales they made that month. This is how they differ from MLM. MLM companies do not give you enough products to run your own store. You MUST have a HEAVY downline (people signed up under you) to make real profits).

However MLAM were also different from affiliate programs because they gave you the option of making more by signing up other affiliates. So companies like avon said “you’ll make a LOT more if you put in the effort to set up a storefront, but if you are really good at MLM we also give you that option”. Either way it was a win for the avon company.

These programs ARE what you want to get involved in as a blogger. They give you products to talk about and sell on your blog. They give you signup codes so others who like what you sell can also make money the same way you do, and generally they are products people actually DO buy!

Currently my number one selling MLAM is called IM Buzz Software This is a company that gives you enough HIGH QUALITY software to start your own software company. All the software packages are free and you can rename them, add banners and affiliate links inside the software, and add your company name to the packages! You can give the software away as promotional software or you can completely sell it as your own. ‘

Whats the catch? The idea behind this program is that as you begin to profit from it you will see the benefit in upgrading your account to have even more software and more rebranding options. In fact, I guarantee you’ll upgrade if you use this program!!

I have been running the IM Buzz software on my blog marketing blog for some time now. Although I haven’t made any sales directly through the affiliate program of IM Buzz I have sold a LOT of copies of some of the software. In fact one of the software packages ‘the forum seeker’ is currently on page two of google search results for its highly targeted name and brings me a lot of traffic and sales to my blog.
