7 Magnetic Marketing Secrets To Wealth in 2010 – Secret #3

Yesterday, we covered Secret #2: Cherry Picking And The Three Types Of Leads.

****************************************
SECRET #3: TIMING IS EVERYTHING!
****************************************

You’ll notice that Secret #3 is closely associated with Secret #1 (the right message to the right market at the right time).

Most people tinker with their message and their market and end up with something that works pretty well. But they forget how important TIMING is in the whole mix.

They forget this one simple truth:

“People will buy when THEY’RE ready, not when you’re ready to make a sale.”

If that statement is true (and it is), then by definition…you have to be in front of folks when they’re ready to buy. In other words, you have to follow-up with them constantly! Because if you don’t, someone else will land their business.

And guess what? That “someone else” who lands the business will be your competitor, who either:

A) Followed up; or (more likely)
B) Got lucky enough to cross paths with your prospect at the right time.

You don’t want to leave new business up to chance. But the one thing you control in this situation —- staying in front of the prospect —- is probably the single greatest challenge in your business.

The fact is, “follow-up” is a gut-wrenching, time-consuming, tedious and labor-intensive task that is almost impossible for the human mind to keep straight. So, businesses everywhere have concocted half-baked schemes, spreadsheets, tickler files, software programs, and who knows what else to help them with this all-important function of their business.

Unfortunately, most of these schemes are dramatically unsuccessful. As a result, businesses everywhere leave HUGE amounts of money on the table every month. They continue to spend good money on leads, only to let the majority of them go to waste because the “timing” wasn’t right for those folks.

According to one industry publication, over 99% of small businesses do not consistently follow up with their prospects and customers.

The good news is that you can easily tackle this challenge… and when you do, you’ll see a BIG jump in your profits.

If the time is right for you to get a follow-up system in place, I can tell you where to start. Download Free eBook: 9 Proven Techniques to Double Sales and I’ll tell you how to make this powerful secret to success work for YOUR business.

It’s really more of reminder to you that there are certain elements you need to be aware of when creating your newsletter and crafting your messages. These elements could potentially grow your list and provide great wealth for you and your business if done correctly.

This same marketing strategy also applies to the content and appearance of your blog. Take the time to understand what your readers want, build campaigns or produce content that speaks to those needs, give your blog or newsletter a professional appearance, solicit feedback from your readers, and interact with your customers to build lasting relationships. This is the exact blueprint for attraction marketing, and it is the only way to build yourself a thriving business.

Therefore, it is paramount you give it your best when creating your content. That one lazy post could make the difference between you making a little money or you making a lot of money in your business. Enjoy the post!

3 Steps to Double Your Sales

If you’re like most companies, you’re not using your newsletter for the marketing tool it is. You see many companies produce newsletters. But after a while, the purpose of the newsletter is lost and so is its impact. Here are a few tips for turning your newsletter into a powerful marketing strategy.

1. Determine what your readers want- too many newsletters are used simply to boast. Although your newsletter should promote your business, it’s also a time to build your relationship with your prospects and customers. Be sure to discuss topics of interest and value for your customers and prospects.

2. Personalize your newsletter- there are hundreds of newsletters circulating on the Internet and in the mail. You need to make your newsletter stand out from the crowd. Making your newsletter uniquely you will make a difference. So be real. Feel free to include personality and emotion in your newsletter.

3. Make it look good- the visual aspect of your newsletter can make all the difference. Make it brief. (You only have the reader’s attention for a few minutes.) Use bullets and appealing headlines. And include graphics.

4. Let your readers give you their opinion- ask your readers to comment on the newsletter. They will tell you what they liked, disliked, or want to see more of. Additionally, the interaction with your readers draws you closer to a sale.

5. Include your contact information- the ultimate purpose of the newsletter is to get more customers (through name recognition, relationship building, and promoting your products). However, without your contact information, those potential customers will never appear.

Create a newsletter worthy of your company and you’ll drive your readers to future sales. Make it simple, make it short, and make it a powerful tool that reflects you and your business!

Let Your Passions Grow Your Business.. Or Not

This blog post is a tip from Clate Mask, CEO of Infusionsoft. If you have followed my blog for a while, you’ve noticed that I routinely publish Clate’s marketing tips. I do it for a couple reasons. One, I believe in the products Infusionsoft provides. Two, I love the story of how the Infusionsoft product was created, and what that story means for you and me as a small business owner. Now I could could take you on a long journey explaining the Infusionsoft conception, but I will allow you to read the story for yourself. The story is told by Clate in the first chapter of his free ebook: 9 Proven Techniques to Double Sales

This particular marketing tip talks about having a passionate attitude for your business and the products you promote. If you are passionate about your business and the services you provide, then you will be able to speak confidently and honestly about how it will benefit your customers. Your excitement and sincerity will create a desire in your customers to give your products a try. They will do this because they too want to feel that same passion you share.

On the other hand, if you do not have a love for your business, neither will your customers. Even if it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread, they will want nothing to do with it because your attitude towards the product did not resonate favorably with them. And why should they buy from you if you yourself are not excited about the product? Exactly! They shouldn’t and they won’t!

Aside from business, everything you do in life should be done with a purpose. That purpose should be to change your life or the lives of others. Put your entire heart and soul into making it happen.. Because life is too short to be doing something that you are not truly passionate about. Live your dreams and enjoy life to the fullest doing the things you love to do!

3 Steps to Double Your Sales

Find Your Passion.

Running a business is tiring, time-consuming, and often frustrating. It’s not uncommon for the “Entrepreneurial Light” to burn out. However, if you’re not excited about your products or services, no one else is going to be. And, who wants to buy a product/service they’re not enthusiastic about?

Quick tips for regaining your passion:

  • Write down all the reasons you love your products or services
  • Tell others the story of why you became an entrepreneur
  • Imagine what you want your business to look like in 5 years (even if it’s unrealistic… perhaps especially if it’s unrealistic!)
  • Read inspirational books, blogs, and articles about small business ownership
  • Take time to rejuvenate

Look, you became an entrepreneur for a reason. And, how you feel about your company is going to be reflected in the risks you’ll take, the way you interact with your customers, and the amount of money you bring in!

Ray Kroc (founder of McDonald’s) said, “If you work just for the money, you’ll never make it, but if you love what you’re doing, and always put the customer first, success will be yours.”

Be passionate! Be excited! Learn to love your business, your customers, and the simple joys of small business ownership. Pass that passion on to your employees and customers, and you’ll see a phenomenal difference in the growth and success of your business!

In conjunction with our last tip on creating an affiliate program, this post will address the three main aspects of creating a successful affiliate program.

Who should my affiliates be?
When selecting people to partner with you, consider their value. Find someone whose influence is going to drive sales. Seek out the gurus and experts in your industry and see if they’d be willing to partner with you. Look for individuals with a market that is either larger, or hits another set of prospects than yours does. Finally, choose affiliates that are excited about, and preferably use, your products and service.

How should my affiliates be paid?
Always pay your affiliates on a commission basis. Like most salesman, if they do nothing… they receive nothing. The harder they work, the more they earn. However, the value of each of your affiliates is going to vary. Consider paying commissions based on a tiered payment structure.

How do I motivate affiliates to act?
Even the best partners need motivation to work with you. Here’s the key: make it EASY and LUCRATIVE for them. They’re busy. You’ve got to do as much of the work for them as you can. And, you need to be generous. Remember, it’s their influence and list you want, not their work. Make it easy and lucrative for them and your success will soar.

Creating and managing multi-tiered affiliate structures should not be difficult. Find an affiliate management software program that does this for you. Then, sit back and see what your affiliates can do!

How to Create An Affiliate Program and Automatically Grow Your Business

One of my favorite moments was when someone taught me about synergy. The example they used was two horses pulling a cart. Each horse can pull approximately 500 lbs. (I’m making that up, because I don’t remember the actual number.)

A basic understanding of math would logically determine that by strapping the two horses together, they could pull 1,000 lbs. In reality, two horses working together can pull three times the amount they could on their own–not double.

This same principle is the reason business owners need to consider using affiliates. You see… you can’t be the “perfect” entrepreneur. You can try. And, maybe get close. But, at some point in time everybody needs additional skills, markets, and time they don’t possess.

So, what exactly does having affiliates add to your business? Here are just a few benefits:

  • More Referrals
  • A Larger Market (yours + your affiliate’s)
  • An Outside Promoter of Your Products/Services
  • Increased Networking Abilities
  • & Ultimately More Sales!

Consider the value of having another “salesman” reaching out to your customers. Now, you don’t have to grow your company on your own. By creating an affiliate program, you can achieve much more than you will EVER be able to achieve alone!

When you develop lasting partnerships, your business is going to grow automatically, just from the leverage you gave it. Strap yourself to affiliates, and see where the synergy can take you!
