There are tons of ways to drive traffic, but the thing that people struggle with is not getting more traffic, it’s getting more sales. How hard would it be to make sales if 1 out of every 10 people who visited your website purchased? All you would have to do is start an Adwords campaign and you’d be making sales!
Unfortunately most people are lucky to make a sale for every 1000
visitors, which makes most traffic too expensive.
The average visitor to a website will usually stay on your website for less than 30 seconds. Within those 30 seconds, your content must make them move to action. If there is nothing on your website that provokes this call to action, your site will not covert the sale.
What are some simple things you can do to keep them there longer?
Ensure you have something of value, and make sure they are able to see that offer immediately upon landing on your website. The more upfront value you offer, the more likely they will want to stay on your site, and the more likely they will want to pursue other goodies on your site.
Another option is to hit them with an engaging video right off the bat. Your video needs to tell them what they will receive from your products or services. It must be the solution to their problem(s), and it must be tailored specifically for them, your target audience. If you do not know your target audience, you need to go back and do some homework. Saying the right thing to the wrong person will not help you much at all.
What is the purpose of driving traffic if you can’t make sales? Sure, your counter will be happy to see all your new guest; However, your wallet will not be as pleased.
