Welcome back! I hope you are having a most glorious day.
Today, I will be starting a new series. This series will come from a book that has really changed the way I think about acquiring wealth (I will let you know which book tomorrow).
This post will be a really long introduction to that discussion topic. And it is longer than the average introduction because I want to make it crystal clear to you what we will be discussing this week. This will also allow you time to prepare your rebuttal. But do so only if you believe Christians are not allowed to be wealthy. Okay?
Let’s continue…
There used to be a time when I believed as a Christian that I was not supposed to have wealth. I felt guilty about making lots of money, which was the case in my earlier beginnings on the Internet. I would often give up on this business or take long breaks from it so that I would not “over accumulate” wealth. Crazy? For some it would seem to be quite weird, but for those who know me, you know it’s like me to think and act that way. My service is to God. So, if I feel like I am not on the right path, I take drastic changes in order to get back on track. This was the case many times in the past.
My last break from Internet marketing lasted almost five years. During my absence I did a whole lot of praying. I wanted to be for certain of what I was doing. I needed to know that it was acceptable. Well, my prayers were finally answered. As I returned to doing business online in 2009, I immediately started to connected with many like-minded individuals – Christian Brothers & Sisters. I learned from them that making huge amounts of money was not at all sinful. I mean, many of my friends were making five and six-figure incomes online, and they were just as grounded in faith as I was making nothing more than an average salary. LOL. So, what’s wrong with that picture?
Apparently, I had misunderstood the Gospels. The sin is actually committed when the “love of money” takes you away from your faith and you start to serve man (and money) rather than He who has prospered you. In other words, you just completely lose your mind! LOL
You see, there is absolutely nothing wrong with making an enormous amount of money. In fact, it is your God-given right to make as much money as you possibly can. Do you agree or disagree?
Maybe this is a good point to take a break. I can sense there will be some comments regarding what I just stated. Then again, maybe you are seeing it the same way. Maybe I am still trying to convince myself that it’s okay. hmm.. I guess we will soon see.
Tomorrow we will start with chapter one of.. Oh, I almost let the cat out of the bag:~) You will just have to come back and see what I have prepared. And then you can continue to come back the next day.. and the next day.. and the next day.. and for however many days it takes to convince you that you have a right to be wealthy.. or until the book ends.. whichever comes first!
Have a blessed day..
I will see you tomorrow!
