10 Constructive Guidelines To Get Repeat Traffic To Your Internet Business

Getting people to pay a visit to your website takes constant hard labor from your part, and there is always a association between the effort you put in and the count you see on your hit counter.

A basic “traffic generation sin” to commit is not getting the most out of your existing traffic. So here are a few guidelines to help you do just that…

#1. Revise the pages on your website often and add fresh content. Dormant sites are dropped by some search engines. You can even put a date counter on the page to show when it was last updated.

#2. Offer added value on your website. A great method is to offer something they will expect to pay for, and give it away for free. Also add fresh content to this section consistently.

#3. Induce your visitors to “opt-in” to your e-zine by giving them discounts and special offers. You can also offer them free reports on topics of relevance.

#4. Put a “Social Bookmarking” script on all the pages on your site. Add a ‘Recommend this site to a Friend’ link so that the visitor can send your website link just by clicking on it. You can get this script for free from www.addthis.com or www.sharethis.com.

#5. Make your site viral Twitter optimized with suitable scripts. Then motivate your prospects to tweet their followers for gift cards or discounts to a product they are in the course of buying.

#6. Brand your website so that visitors always know they are on your site. Use consistent colors, logos and slogans and always provide a ‘Contact Us’ link on each page. This will help you to establish credibility.

#7. Set up a “Our Policies” page that openly defines your beliefs and principles in dealing with your clients. Also post your “Privacy Policy” as well so that customers know they are protected when they visit your site. This will help you develop some initial trust.

#8. Create a “FAQ” section which addresses most of the uncertainties about your products, or your business that are likely to be asked. This helps to resolve most of the customers doubts in their first visit to your site.

#8. Ensure that each page on your website has suitable titles and keywords so that your customers can easily find their way back to your site if they lose their bookmark.

#9. Never spam a client, who has opted for e-zines, with unwanted or inappropriate emails. Only give them what you promised them upon sign-up. Later on, if they decide to ‘opt out’ of the mailings, be sure you honor their request and take them off the mailing list. They may still come back if they like your products. But they will definitely not come back if you continue to flood their inbox with mails they no longer wish to receive.

#10. Create a free members section. You can do this in conjunction with point #2. This adds uniqueness to your site and will also help boost your subscriber opt-in list when they sign up.
